Safety Warnings for Lifting Slings

1. Check all lifting slings prior to use, inspect for signs of wear, cuts or abrasion, and make sure they are the correct size and type for the load and intended use. 

2. Lifting slings should never be used to lift people.

3. Never overload a sling beyond its rated capacity. 

4. Avoid shock loads to the sling. 

5. Do not use a sling that has been damaged or repaired with wire, tape, or any other material. 

6. Make sure the sling is properly secured to the load and the rigging before lifting. 

7. Make sure the sling is clear of all edges and points that could cause damage. 

8. Make sure the sling leg angle is within the manufacturer’s recommendations. 

9. When using multiple slings, make sure they are compatible and arranged properly. 

10. Always wear safety glasses and gloves when handling the sling. 

11. Dispose of damaged or worn out slings properly.
